It wasn't until her mother, Penelope Page, fell ill and passed away to cancer when Karen's life began truly shaping into something different. At age nineteen, some time after the loss of her mother, Karen was with a boyfriend who began influencing on her significantly. partying turned into an addiction to drugs and selling them with her boyfriend, while her relationship with her father and brother was strained. on one faithful night and after a family argument, kevin confronted karen's boyfriend todd, the confrontation beginning with arsey and ending in violence, forcing karen to flee with kevin, tracigally driving drunk and thus having an accident while driving. that was when the page family truly fell apart, her father paxton telling karen to leave and not to come back after making the decision to use his connections to hide karen's part in her brother's death.many years after, new life in new york ; for some time an office manager for Nelson and Murdock, an investigating journalist for New York Bulletin, until finally a paralegal investigator.She first met Foggy Nelson and Matt Murdock after arrested as the prime suspect for a murder of her co-worker, at the time Nelson and Murdock came to her rescue and believed in her innocence. As such, it was discovered she had been set-up due to information she had found while working as the secretary to the chief accountant of Union Allied Construction. From there a conspiracy unfolded, Wilson Fisk was stringing people along like puppets in his attempt to gain power in the city of New York. Karen took part in attempting to bring Wilson Fisk in front of judgy and jury. She didn’t only assist Foggy, Matt but also took the case to an investigating journalist Ben Urich with whom she attempted to expose Fisk and his criminal empire. Eventually Fisk was exposed, his criminal acts brought to light, but not before Ben Urich had been found dead and Karen experiencing further trauma of her own when kidnapped by Wilson Fisk’s personal assistant James Wesley, whom she shot in self-defence — Seven times. Until the clip ran out.Thereafter Karen was working for Nelson and Murdock, taking smaller and easy cases until they came across with a case more ferocious and brutal than they had ever seen. After many dead bodies and running from bullets, against all odds, Matt and Foggy took on the case of The Punisher. As such, Karen soon found herself curious about the story of Frank Castle and formed a complex connection with him. As expected the trial of The People of New York vs. Frank Castle gained a lot of attention, the case was complicated and tested Nelson and Murdock in so many ways. On the side karen had also began dating Matt, with whom things got complicated quite fast after a promising start, this complicating their dynamic during the punisher spectacle, much so due to matt's odd behavior and secrets. Though not entirely due to their case with The Punisher, ultimately during the trial Nelson and Murdock fell apart, causing Karen to turn to New York Bulletin once more with the intention of writing Frank Castle’s true story ; as it had become important to her. That of course, got her more involved in what crime lay behind the castle family's tragic death and its cover-up. And like so, her attempts to uncover the truth got her almost shot a couple of times, though saved by Frank. many events unfolded, by the end of it all, matt finally chose to share his secret and the truth with Karen — Matthew murdock is the devil of hell's kitchen.In the aftermath, after Nelson and Murdock shut its doors, all three parties moving on with their lives, karen was employed into New York Bulletin by Mitchell Ellison. Foggy and Karen attempted to support matt with leaving his daredevil identity behind, but soon enough an old threat reprised, and so did matt his role as the devil of hell's kitchen. As the Hand returned to New York, matt got involved in stopping the hand along with other defenders, ultimately having a building collapsing on him and leaving everybody to believe that matt didn't survive the disaster — leaving karen and foggy to mourn their friend.While Karen continued to work for Bulletin, she was contacted by Frank again, needing her help to get information on a guy called Micro. Despite everything that had happened before, karen chose to help frank and got him the information needed. karen also got involved in speaking against a terrorist Lewis Wilson's, who threatened her life and made to attack against her and senator Stan Ori whom she was interviewing — once again saved by frank, she was left reeling after the events that took place.Though time had passed, karen refused to believe that Matt had died in the collapse of midland circle. she continued to investigate the incident, but her mission was interrupted by the new of Wilson Fisk's release from Ryker's Island. Changing the direction of her focus, she began collecting information that could once again put Fisk behind the bars. In the middle of it all, Foggy and karen discovered that matt was in fact alive. Though not happy with her friend about letting them believe he was dead for months on end, karen joined forces with matt against Fisk. in the middle of it all, she was targeted by Benjamin Poindexter, a target pointed by Fisk for attempting to go against him again and for revealing that she had been the one who had killed James Wesley. however, with the help of FBI agent Ray Nadeem, the united trio of Nelson, Murdock and page, they managed to take down Fisk and get him back behind the bars, although Nadeem was killed in the process. Afterwards — Matt and Foggy decided to start over with their own new law firsm together with Karen.it became the era of Nelson, Murdock and page law firm.
